Migrating to OneText is easy and seamless, and our team works to minimize disruption to your SMS program. You can keep your current number, and we'll help you every step of the way.
During onboarding, we ensure your OneText account is integrated with your stack. If you come from another SMS provider, we will make sure that your subscriber list is ported to OneText.
We only port numbers explicitly marked as consented to receive SMS, and you are responsible for compliance with your SMS list.
We will help you deactivate your current platform’s list growth tools and automations. We will port your existing flows and make recommendations on how to improve them using OneText’s text-to-buy capabilities.
Already using a short code, toll-free number, or 10DLC with another provider like Attentive, Klaviyo, or Postscript? Good news: you can bring it with you—and the process is simpler than it sounds.

Initial Consultation
Let our sales and / or success team know that you want to migrate your phone number to OneText, including the desired date and time for the port.
Letter of Authorization (LOA)
We will send you an LOA to sign, and we’ll ask you to send us the most recent invoice (within the last 30 days) from your current provider to initiate the migration process. This gives us permission to request the transfer. We’ll send you a ready-to-fill template, no guesswork required.
Communication with Your Current Provider
We will draft the necessary communication for you to inform your current provider about the migration to expedite approval of the port request.
Compliance Check
Before approving the port, our telecom partner will do a quick review of your website to confirm TCPA compliance (e.g., proper opt-in language and terms). If there are any issues, we will flag them for you, so you can make the necessary revisions.
Scheduling the Port
Once approved, we’ll lock in a transfer date that works for you. We always recommend avoiding any major campaign days (like holidays or big sales launches) to keep things stress-free.
Day of the Port
On the scheduled day, our team will handle the migration to ensure minimal downtime. We'll confirm with you when it's complete!
The actual transfer usually takes 10 minutes or less. During that window, your number will be briefly offline, but once the port completes, it’s fully live on OneText—and your customers won’t notice a thing.
