MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) supports images, gifs, contact cards, and longer character counts, delivering a richer experience than SMS (at a higher price).

At a glance: all media sent via MMS must be 512kb or less. Need help reducing the size of your media? Read our suggestions below!

Images

Images must be less than 512kb to send via MMS. OneText will automatically compress uploaded images, but this can sometimes result in unpleasant pixelation and artifacts. If you see issues with pixelation, we recommend resizing images prior to upload—this will result in less compression. Here’s how:

  1. Open the image in Preview and inspect the size. We recommend 500-800 pixels on its longest edge.

This image would be much too large to send via MMS and would result in compression.
  2. Select “Adjust Size” under Tools.

  3. Enter “500” pixels for the longest edge and set the resolution to 72 pixels/inch. When your “Resulting Size” is less than 500kb, you’re all set!

Ensure the resulting size is less than 500kb
  4. Your image will be resized to smaller dimensions, without sacrificing quality.
