Text Orders: Direct and Definitive

Unlike click-attributed website orders, text orders are crystal clear. These orders are placed directly through OneText’s text-to-buy checkout, using reply-to-buy or purchase links. There’s no ambiguity—these are orders that happened in the text thread, through your OneText sales channel. You can even filter for OneText orders on Shopify—read our explainer to see how.

Web Orders: Choose the Attribution That Fits Your Strategy

OneText supports three attribution models for website orders. These are especially helpful when your flows include a mix of click-based campaigns and behavior-triggered automations.

You can toggle between the following attribution models:

  1. Message Only Attribution
Sales are attributed to the message that was sent, regardless of whether the customer clicked. Useful for evaluating the broad impact of campaigns.

  2. Click Only Attribution
Orders are attributed to the message the customer last clicked before converting (similar to Klaviyo).

  3. Combined Attribution
Shows all orders attributed under both send and click logic. This option will show higher totals and includes some overlap for a fuller picture.

All attribution is calculated using a conservative 24-hour window for message influence.

Flow Attribution Models: Understand What Drove the Sale

OneText gives you fill control over how revenue is attributed across flows and campaigns. Choose from:

Screenshot 2025-04-13 at 4.40.52 PM.png
  1. Root Cause Only
Attribution goes to the first flow or campaign that initiated the customer’s journey (e.g., a welcome message or campaign that led to a later cart recovery).

  2. Most Recent Cause Only
Attribution goes to the last flow or campaign before the order (e.g., the cart recovery message that closed the sale).

  3. Combined Cause
Shows both the initiating and closing flow. This is helpful for full-funnel insights but does not de-dupe order value across flows.

OneText automatically de-dupes revenue for Root and Most Recent attribution models to prevent double counting. Many platforms do not. This is part of our commitment to transparent, trustworthy reporting.

Date Picker & Granular Reporting

Use the date range selector to filter your analytics to any custom time window. Whether you're analyzing a weekend promotion or reviewing quarterly flow performance, the date picker allows for precise reporting across both campaigns and automations.

Metric Definitions

Starts
Total number of message sends for a given flow or campaign.

Clicks
Total link clicks within a message (including shop links, product links, or “manage subscription” links).

Text Orders
Orders placed directly via OneText—usually through a Purchase Offer or Product Choice step.

Website Orders
Orders placed on your Shopify site that are attributed to a message based on the attribution model selected.

Text Lift
Measures the increase in total sales driven by OneText messages.

Conversion Rate
Calculated as total orders ÷ total sends. We use this broader definition to reflect total message reach—not just clicks.

ROI Metrics

Special Sources in Reporting

Sales Agent / Manual API Call
Orders initiated manually by our in-house concierge agents via API or chat support. These represent high-intent, 1:1 engagements that convert at a high rate.

Other
In rare cases where a flow can’t be definitively tied to a text order, the order is labeled as “Other.” This typically happens with orders placed through conversation or multi-step journeys that span multiple flows.
