Offers and discount codes in text
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Your offer is the one thing shoppers will screenshot, share, and search for. Set it up so it works in your favor.
Text-exclusive deals
Give subscribers something the rest of your customers don't get: early access, a bigger discount, a free gift, or a product only available by text. This is what keeps people opted in after the holidays, and it's the easiest way to justify the extra sends during peak week.
Match the offer to the segment
VIPs: early access and the best offer, sent before the public sale
Engaged subscribers: the main offer
Non-buyers late in the sale: a last-chance version with a stronger hook, like free shipping added
Gift shoppers: bundles and gift sets rather than percentage discounts
Check your flows before the sale
If your welcome flow offers 10% off and your BFCM sale is 30% off, a new subscriber during peak week gets a worse deal for signing up. Either pause the flow discount during the sale or swap it for the BFCM offer. Do the same check on abandoned cart and winback flows so discounts don't stack.
Set expirations and test them
Every code should have an end date and time that matches your sale window. Test each one before it goes into a scheduled message. A broken code on Black Friday means replies, refund requests, and a send you can't take back.

Keep the offer simple
One offer per text. "30% off everything" beats "up to 30% off select styles when you spend $75." If the deal needs a footnote, shoppers may skip it during the busy weeks.
